A Single Man, directed by Tom Ford

This film is contemplative and stylish. It's also breathtaking and heartbreaking, hilarious, witty and sad. Tom Ford directed and co-wrote it and Firth, Goode, and Moore are just wonderful. The soundtrack is great too, with help from Shigeru Umebayashi who also did the music for In The Mood For Love.

Yul Brynner, by George Platt Lynes

Some of you may be too young to know exactly who Yul Brynner was. He was pretty much a movie star in the matinee idol stream - a singer and dramatic actor who starred in such films as The King and I, Anastasia and as Ramses in The Ten Commandments.   When I was a kid, he took a turn as a demented robot in a science fiction film called Westworld

George Platt Lynes

GPL was decades ahead of his time. He knew some very influential people and was romantically associated with Glenway Wescott and Monroe Wheeler in the 1930s. There is a series of photos of Yul Brynner posing nude for GPL that I will post. GPL knew a lot of people, but died broke and broken and almost forgotten.

Remembering Hair Trigger: Obsession

This guy only had one name: Obsession. Lean and hung, hairy and handsome. He and a few others I was bright enough to save on my HDD when I first stumbled upon the Hair Trigger website years ago. It is now defunct, alas, a victim of savvier porn in this age of the surface and deep web .. I was always impressed by it - the images were large and sharp, no fuzzy cheap imagery there. And the sheer volume, certainly a feast for the eyes.
