Adolescent boner for Sam Elliot

I was thirteen or fourteen when I first saw Frogs - a lamentable schlock horror vehicle with one saving grace: Sam shirtless in the last half of the movie. Saving the day and the damsel in Bayou waters, he was, most of the time, sopping wet. Wet fur. I was transfixed by his voice and his hairy chest. Wooden acting aside, his deep voice is so macho I kept telling myself (even at 14, a young critic), "It's the script! How could someone so sexy be that bad on film?" Well, he has gone on to better things, and become a better actor since.

I think Frogs may have been his first feature film. Not sure. The first two photos are from the film. The third is from Lifeguard, another barn burner where he is thankfully out of his shirt most of the time and no bones are made about it. I mean, it's his job, right?

These days, fast forward to the present, I hear his voice in Dodge Ram commercials.

God, he had the sexiest navel.
