Richard Chamberlain 1935-2025
I must thank Sicko Ricko for this last amazingly gorgeous shot of Chamberlain! Here he is, all youthfulness again, from an old post of American TV doctors: RC
Richard Chamberlain made me gay when I was 12 years old. I used to fantasize about him and adored his hairy body...especially the beach photos. I even painted a glass portrait of him wanting to send it to him but my parents said no! I wonder why?!
Many people criticize him and others (Rock Hudson, Tab Hunter, Liberace etc.) who were closeted at the time, not realizing being out of the closet would have left them dealing with a very hostile public, very angry and disappointed fans and out of a hard earned career. The 1950’s weren’t so nifty. -Rj
it was def a different time for sure Rj. I remember my sister commenting to me about seeing the Rolling Stones on Ed Sullivan in the 60s with Mick jumping around on stage. She said, and it has stayed with me, that you just didn't see that, it wasn't 'done'. Which seems, in these days of Wet Ass Pussy, sooo mild!
My dad’s mom had just gotten used to the Beatles when the Rolling Stones came on the scene later in 1964. She couldn’t believe they allowed Mick Jagger on television with the way the camera focused on his crotch during one of their first appearances on American television. And his mouth ! As Ma said one can only imagine where that mouth has been ! :) -Rj
