He is from here, Montreal, where I live. He speaks French but also good English. His father is an actor with an Italian name.
Xavier is a genious and he is also nice in person not a snob guy as some may think of.
Actor, producer and director nothing what he does is badly done. More he had in the past some critic by jalous people saying that he was helped by public money which is somewhat usual for film making here. But he wisely answered by saying that HIM alone is paying for his movies without any government funding.
Quite right JiEL, I appreciate his work and admit I have a soft spot for the French in Canada and elsewhere. I am French Canadian on my maternal side. Her ancestors, most likely Normans, arrived in New France in 1670.
My ancester arrived in L'Ange Gardien near Québec city in 1648 coming from La Rochelle but most of my roots are from Avranches in France in Normanmandy.
My family name is quite rare. Some are now living mostly near Sorel and some in Manitoba and Yukon.
During the beginning of the 29th century some went to live in Vermont, Rhode Island, Mass and some changed the family name as «Lange» refering to that place I mentionned first.
I'm a French speaking «québécois» but fully bilingual since I was 4 yo.
