Grooming

When gay had quite a different meaning. My gay uncle and his straight acting professional friends would always purchase the most masculine of grooming products. Never mind the gay soirées at his fine home where some of them dressed in drag, and the sailors, muscle men and beach boys from North Beach and Virginia Beach he’d have over to cavort and “entertain” his friends for summer pool parties.
For my gay uncle the staid 1950’s were nifty and the go-go 1960’s were wild.

Rose-colored glass is very appropriate. Many things are better, but at same time "SOMETHING" is missing as well. Tony Italian.

Thank you for your comment Rex! The past is viewed by me, certainly, with rose-coloured glasses. I feel very safe today, even compared to the 80s, but there is something missing. I wrote about it years ago when I mentioned that something has been lost. It seems we have been subsumed now that we can marry and raise children. That's all very nice, but where are the jungle drums? Where the secret society? Like Malcolm X said when you add cream to coffee - it used to wake you up - now it puts you to sleep.
